In the first three months of 2024, 28% of new stretch clients at Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness centers came from leveraging the Kinotek platform.

We wanted to learn more, so we Zoomed with Dayton McPherson, Assistant Vice President of Fitness, and heard from a few Healthtrax trainers. Here’s the Healthtrax story.

Who is Healthtrax? In business for 45 years, Healthtrax provides fitness and wellness programming at centers in 17 locations across six states, mostly in the Northeast. According to its website, the company provides members with both a virtual and in-person fitness experience through our personal training services, state-of-the-art equipment, a variety of group fitness classes, customized health programs and more.

How is Healthtrax different? The company centers its business on making fitness “an extension of your lifestyle.” It bridges the gap between fitness and wellness and, as part of that goal, partners with hospitals. The company prides itself on offering leading edge technologies, equipment and programming.

Why did Healthtrax consider using Kinotek? According to Dayton, the Healthtrax team felt that a specific stretch program could offer “another avenue for us to get to a market that we may have never gotten to before.” They believed Kinotek could help.

How did Healthtrax implement Kinotek? In 2023 Healthtrax developed its “Stretch & Flex” program. It educated its Personal Trainers and Certified Stretching Coaches. The first “Stretch & Flex” program was launched at one center in May 2023. “We slowly started to launch throughout the other ones, probably three or four every single month. And now we're fully launched,” said Dayton.

How exactly does Healthtrax use Kinotek? The company advertises its new program through multiple digital and in-center channels, and through its trainers. When a prospect is interested, trainers use Kinotek for an initial movement assessment. The Kinotek app is loaded on each trainer’s tablet. The scored results and 3D visuals are shared with the prospect. The results? “Instant gratification,” said Dayton, along with new program sign ups!

What has been the Kinotek impact? In the first three months of this year, 28% of Healthtrax’s new stretch sign ups–up to 80 new clients–are linked to using the Kinotek assessment. According to Dayton, new clients include people who are currently doing personal training, individuals who have been members for 10-15 years, but never before invested in a service, and the brand new demographic: those who have never come into the gym before.

Kinotek has enabled Healthtrax trainers to gain new stretch participants from current members, and attract a brand new demographic.

“Trainers using Kinotek have a 20% higher close rate,” said Dayton. And additional benefit: “The trainer has the data to craft a specific, personalized program.”

We asked if Dayton had any other comments. “With Kinotek you can stand out and be a force in your community because you've got this great technology to help people. It's a fantastic product.”
