Dr. Marty Miller, Kinotek’s new Chief Movement Officer

We are proud to announce that Dr. Marty Miller has joined Kinotek as Chief Movement Officer. A lifelong advocate for the importance of movement health as a crucial health biomarker, Marty will help develop and expand the company’s platform strategy and educational offerings to reach professionals at gyms, clubs, and in sports and medical settings.

A Lifelong Pursuit of Movement Health

Marty has been working to improve his clients’ movement health for more than 25 years, ever since he earned his B.S. in Sports Medicine & Athletic Training from Canisius University (NY). Intent on mastering his profession, he also earned his M.S. in Performance Enhancement & Injury Prevention from PennWest California (PA).

If I Had A Tool Like Kinotek Back Then…

Early in his career, Marty worked with MLB teams as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Specialist. One key learning was that his word alone, without data or other ways to communicate, could be less than effective when it came to influencing athletes (and their coaches) to address movement health issues. Eventually, this insight led him to pursue his Doctorate of Health Sciences (DHSc) & Organizational Behavior from A.T. Still University (AZ). He is also a Master Instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

“If you’ve seen the movie ‘Money Ball’ it showed how decisions were made in some professional sports teams before they had hard data,” he said. “That somewhat reflects how things were for an Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning coach like me early in my career at the MLB.”

According to Marty,

“If I had an objective, quantitative tool like Kinotek back then, I believe I could have had a greater influence on players and coaches to help prevent injuries.”

Fitness Director, Teacher, Podcaster

After several positions as a Fitness Director at premier country clubs in South Florida, Marty became Vice President of Education & Training at Technogym, the fitness equipment and digital services powerhouse out of Italy. Through this position, and his ongoing work leading the NASM weekly “Master Instructor Roundtables” podcast with co-host Wendy Batts, Marty has gotten to pursue his other passion:  teaching the industry about movement health.

“We are thrilled that Marty has joined our team,” said Pat Panaia, CEO of Kinotek. “It was clear that he embraces our mission to make measuring movement health easy and accessible so that we can reach the widest possible range of professionals to support their work with clients.”

Marty added:  “I think Kinotek is a game changer. I’ve seen how it helps professionals be more objective and quantitative, but also provides a completely new way to educate and engage clients. They get to see their body in a whole new way, and when they do, they want to improve.”
